Papri Chaat Latkes


Ingredients:

  • 1 bag of frozen hashbrowns 

  • 1 egg

  • ½ cup all purpose flour

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 can garbanzo beans

  • 1 tomato, diced

  • 1 red onion, diced

  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro

  • 2 chopped green chillies

  • 1 tbsp chaat masala

  • yogurt

  • cilantro chutney

  • tamarind chutney




     


Instructions:

  1. Add a bag of frozen hashbrowns to a mixing bowl.

  2. Then add an egg, salt, and black pepper to the bowl, and mix until the potatoes are evenly coated in the egg and flour.

  3. Use a cookie scoop to form the potatoes into round balls, and then flatten into ½ inch rounds.

  4. On medium to high heat, add oil to a skillet, and put your flattened potatoes on the skillet.

  5. Cook for a few minutes on each side until golden brown and the potato is cooked through.

  6. Transfer to a plated lined with paper towels to soak up any excess oil.

  7. Rinse and drain a can of garbanzo beans and add them to a mixing bowl.

  8. Add tomatoes, onions, green chillies, and chaat masala to the mixing bowl, and mix together.

  9. When the potatoes have cooled slightly, add a dollop of plain yogurt on each one, drizzle some cilantro chutney, top with the garbanzo beans mixture, and finish with a drizzle of tamarind chutney.
