Lahori Fish Pakora
Ingredients:
1 lb cod fish
1 tbsp chickpea flour
1 tbsp all purpose flour
1 tbsp yogurt
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp minced ginger
½ lemon, juiced
1 tsp whole coriander
1 tsp crushed red chilies
1 tsp dried fenugreek/ methi
½ tsp turmeric
1 tsp salt
chaat masala
lemon wedges
vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions:
Slice the cod fish into small pieces. You can use any fish you like for this recipe.
In a large bowl, add the chickpea flour, flour, yoghurt, minced ginger and garlic, the juice from half a lemon, and the spices.
Mix together to form a thick paste.
Add the fish to the bowl and make sure all the pieces are coated.
Let it marinate for 10 to 15 minutes.
In a pan, add vegetable oil.
Add the fish to the oil, and keep cooking until golden brown on both sides and the fish is cooked through. (Note: White fish cooks very quickly, so it should only take about a minute on each side)
Immediately after removing from the pan, sprinkle the fish with a little salt and chaat masala.
Serve with lemon on the side.
