Honey Sesame Chicken
Ingredients:
Chicken:
4 tbsp corn starch
1 egg
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
skinless chicken breasts or thighs (cauliflower for a vegetarian option)
oil, for frying
Vegetables and sauce:
bell peppers, diced
red onions, diced
any other vegetables of choice
¼ cup soy sauce
1 tbsp vinegar
3 tbsp honey
1 tsp sesame oil
red chili flakes, to taste
¼ cup water
1 tbsp corn starch
1 tbsp oil
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine corn starch, egg, soy sauce, salt and pepper.
Add the chicken (or cauliflower), and let it marinate for 15-20 minutes
In a frying pan, add oil and fry the chicken (or cauliflower) until golden brown on all sides. Then set it aside.
In a saute pan, add oil and add the vegetables.
When the vegetables have softened, add soy sauce, vinegar, honey, sesame oil, and chili flakes.
Mix the corn starch in ¼ cup of water, and add it to the vegetables.
Let the sauce cook on high heat for a few minutes until it thicken.
Lastly, fold the chicken (or cauliflower) into the vegetables and sauce.
Top with toasted sesames seeds, and serve with rice.
